so today was not a good day. a friend from school died. she was in a car accident yesterday evening, only had her license for about a week. thank goodness that the other girl in the car was not hurt too badly. Christy was the one who passed away, she got brain damage, and was being kept on life support. They took her off of life support at 12:01 last night. it was really hard on everyone.. she was such a great girl. always lively about everything.. and just so sweet. Please pray for her family and friends as they have to go through this. It'd so hard on everyone. We all miss and love you very much, but we know that you are in a better place now.

heres the newspaper article from the Tennessean.
Wreck injuries kill teen driver just days after she got license.
SPRING HILL — Silence hung over Spring Hill High School yesterday as students mourned the death of Christy Dawn Foster, 16, a sophomore and member of the marching band.
Foster died early Tuesday from injuries she suffered in a single-car crash on Mount Olivet Road near Bear Creek Pike.
She had just celebrated her birthday — and her new driver's license — on Oct. 17, according to the school principal, Richard Callahan.
"She was a very active student, both academically and in extracurricular activities,'' Callahan said. "We are shocked and saddened by her death.''
Foster, a resident of the Rally Hill community, was traveling north on Mount Olivet Road at 4:30 p.m. Monday when her 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier ran off the right side of the road, down an embankment and rolled over several times, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Chris Hannah's report.
A passenger in Foster's vehicle, Victoria Lowe, 15, of 101 Acorn Place, Spring Hill, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Hannah said.
Foster was transported by medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died early Tuesday, authorities said.
At the school, students fashioned a memorial to Foster in her parking space, No. 313, decorating the asphalt with chalk messages, flowers and boxes of her favorite cookies, Oreos.
"She was a very friendly person and always said 'good morning' to me when she passed my room in the morning,'' band instructor Daryl Jack said.
"Band tends to be a family organization, and percussion, which she played, was in a different class period, so they were even tighter.''
Additional counselors were brought to the school Tuesday and yesterday to help students deal with the loss.
Services for Foster will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Cornersville Funeral Home, with burial in Mars Hill Cemetery in Cornersville.
Foster, a native of Williamson County, was the daughter of Ricky and Lavonda Sawyers Foster. She also leaves two sisters, Aleshya Ketterman of Rally Hill and LaDonna Foster of Murfreesboro; a brother, Daniel Foster of Ohio; grandparents, Massey and Peggy Sawyers of Columbia; a grandfather, James Foster; and a great-grandmother, Gracie Cantrell of Nashville.
